Since the Upper Austrian networking center for women* in art and culture was founded, cultural workers and artists have been working together to improve the framework conditions for women-specific, feminist cultural practice. As long as social inequalities between men and women need to be changed at all cultural levels, we need the freedom and self-empowerment that FIFTITU% is constantly trying to offer. Following on from the basic cultural policy programs and commitments of the state of Upper Austria (Upper Austrian Cultural Mission Statement) and the city of Linz (Linz Cultural Development Plan), FIFTITU% is once again dedicating its 2013 annual project to gender-equitable cultural policy in Upper Austria.

Every year (with the exception of 2008), the city of Linz, together with FM4, Ö1 and various other cooperation partners, manages to produce such blind spots that it can make your eyes hurt.
Every year, the stage presence of women* at Linzfest is anything but equal to that of men*.
Every year FIFTITU% draws attention to this shortcoming, every year we and the many quality musicians are put off. in 2012 we have had enough - FIFTITU% is changing Linzfest 2012.

* Due to the inflexibility of our language, FIFTITU% also uses the term "woman" or "man" in its texts. However, we would like to point out that this is a construct that serves to maintain social norms. The gender designations used therefore include all those physical persons who are socially categorized as such or who define themselves as such.
