This year's Gabriele Heidecker Award winners are Lisa Großkopf for her project "Das Fotostudio" and Hannah Kordes for "Mehr Raum_Wagen!". We conducted short interviews with both artists, with the prize donor Eva Schobesberger and with the jury member Margit Greinöcker at the award ceremony in June.

In Divensplitter we hear an interview with the Kosovar artist and photographer Majlinda Hoxha. She currently works at the independent print and online magazine Kosovo 2.0, which focuses on journalism, creative production, human rights, media freedom and inclusive participation. We spoke to her about her artworks, women in art and culture in Kosovo and her participation in the project "Finding Kosovo" by the Linz-based artist collective Kompott.

Two animated film evenings were recently held at Moviemento Linz under the title "Tricky Women Filmfestival visits Linz". The Upper Austrian filmmaker and illustrator Edith Stauber was there with her animated film "Drei" and was available for a short film talk afterwards. The Scottish Government will distribute free sanitary products to those in need as part of a pilot project in Aberdeen. At least 1,000 low-income women* and girls*, will benefit from this Scottish Government scheme, which is supported by funding of £42,500.
To give you a better idea: In the lifetime of a woman*, the average woman* spends more than £5,000 on sanitary products. This represents a significant sum, especially for those on low incomes.

After much speculation, the secret of the new "Doctor Who" has been revealed: British actor Jodie Whittaker ("Broadchurch") will be the first woman* in the sci-fi series' 50-year history to take on the role of the time traveler. The Brit is now the 13th person to play the title role in the popular series, which has been running since 1963.

From 7 September FIFTITU% is offering a fortnightly self-defense course for women*. This takes place every 2nd Thursday at 6.30 pm in the Infobeisl at Graben 3.
