The aim of Tricky Women / Tricky Realities is to make animated film art by women* accessible to a broad audience and to provide an overview of current worldwide animated film production. The program curated byFestival Director Waltraud Grausgruberincludescurrent productions,audience favourites and films that have won awards from international juries in recent years. Withan intergenerational mixture of artistically sophisticated positions and critical social developments,entertaining aspects also find their way into the exquisite short film program created especially for Linz:

Erotic, funny, relentless and deadly serious, the audience experiences the journey from single-celled organism to egg cell. It finds itself in the dystopian reality of the one-child policy and crosses the banks of a river, where everyday harassment finds its way onto the dirt track as well as into the nightclub. The program tells of movement, migration and hope, leading from catcalling and talking dogs right into the puerperium. Narratives of applause that neither fills you up nor reduces exhaustion, of parental leave and distorted realitiesand a lustful thumb journeythat embarks on a search for the peculiarities and the very own flair of the city of Linz.
