With the database NEW(S)BASE - Calls & Skills from Art, Culture and Gender Studies, FIFTITU% aims to clear up the mosaic in the funding jungle for women* working in art and culture. The NEW(S)BASE database has been divided into two categories to provide a good overview and make it easy to find your way around: Calls and Skills. In the "Calls" section, artists and cultural practitioners can find information on submissions for prizes, grants, competitions, artist-in-residency programs and much more. The "Skills" section provides information on relevant conferences, lectures or seminars relating to careers, further training, legal advice or networking.
We conducted an interview with Oona Valarie Serbest, FIFTITU% Managing Director, about NEW(S)BASE. She tells us about the impetus for developing the database and what it contains.
