The neo-abolitionist approach defines prostitution as sexual exploitation. This is how it is represented by the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW). And further, as an act of victimization of all women and a violation of human rights - prostitution is paid rape and a pathological outgrowth of patriarchy. The women in sex work were therefore not acting voluntarily. Prostitution must therefore be abolished.
"Whores and Other Feminists" takes a critical look at this discourse. We recorded the discussion with Luzenir Caixeta from maiz - a self-organization of and for migrant women in Linz, about (feminist) discourses surrounding sex work.

In May 2015, the US civil rights activist Angela Davis visited Berlin as part of a tour. Among other things, she spoke with the local part of the solidarity movement for the imprisoned journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal. Author and journalist Abu-Jamal has been on death row for over 30 years. "Free Mumia Coalition" asks Angela Davis how this case can be made visible internationally. We have adopted this short contribution from Radio Aktiv Berlin.
Here is an excerpt from this conversation in the original English, recorded at an event in the Berlin "Werkstatt der Kulturen" on May 14, 2015.

Blackmarket for Useful Knowledge and Non- Knowledge is an idea by Hannah Hurtzig and a method of transporting knowledge in a performative way and staging conversations
to stage. The guiding idea of a "world café" is the relaxed atmosphere of a street café in which people talk casually. Listening to each other, asking questions and discussing a topic together. The traveling merchants are inspired by these two sources.
This time, they invite you to be their guest on the topic of resistant knowledge. This time on the Traunsee. The boat trip will take place on June 27, 2015 . Ursula Kolar tells us more about it

Women's soccer is far less present and popular in the public eye. Nevertheless, it has gained in importance in some countries, such as the United States and Germany, in recent decades. Particularly due to the repeated successes of the women's national teams there.
This year, the 7th FIFA World Cup will take place from June 6 to July 7 in Canada. For the first time, 24 women's teams will take part in the Women's World Cup instead of the previous 16. The first official FiFA Women's World Championship was in China in 1991. Back then, there were no sponsors and no prize money. The game lasted 80 minutes. Since 2007 there has been prize money for the first time with 5.8 million US dollars. This year it is twice as much at 13.6 million US dollars. Despite this, this is only about 3% of the prize money for the 2014 Men's World Cup in Brazil. In 2011, around 63 million people watched the final of the Women's World Cup on television. That was Japan against the USA. This year, an average of 13.2 million people watched the Women's World Cup.
We are currently in the final third of the Women's World Cup. We asked ourselves where in Linz it is possible to watch the Women's World Cup. So, what are the local statistics? Roswitha Kröll started a survey for us

Users can also use the so-called "Hoffsomerator" to stamp their own posts with the "hasselhoff predicate" and send them to Saara Särmä.
2. the small publishing house And Other Stories will produce only books by female authors in 2018.
