FIFTITU% announces as cooperation partner of the Autonomous Women's Center Linz:

Women writers - young and old, newcomers as well as professional authors - are invited to submit texts to the call for entries on the topic of WOMEN.TRAVEL.OTHER.

Prose in the form of short stories, novellas, diary entries, essays, etc. is accepted - but no poetry. This call for entries gives women from Upper Austria and Austria three opportunities to present their texts to the public.

1. 25 to 30 of the best texts submitted will be published as an anthology.
2. Readings from the anthology will take place in spring 2009 - at the same time as the photo exhibition "Traveling in the Ladies' Compartment" at Linz Central Station (an anticipated project in cooperation with Linz 09).
3. There will be further readings from the volume in the course of 2009 at the Frauentreff Rohrbach

Jury: The 4-member jury that will select the texts for the anthology consists of a Germanist, two female authors and a journalist.

Criteria for the call for entries: Required text format: Arial, point size 11, 1 and a half lines. Exclusively as a Word document

Text: Minimum 2000 and maximum 8000 characters (including spaces).
Only one text per person is permitted, the text must not have been published in a book (literary journals, internet and similar will not be considered). If several texts are submitted, there will be no evaluation!

Marking of the text: Each author marks her text with any 7-digit number. This number must be listed (preferably in the header) at the top right of EVERY single page of the text to avoid confusion with other submissions.

Author's name and address: Must NOT be visible on the texts, but must be stated separately in the email, together with the 7-digit number chosen as the CODE for the text.

Fee: There is no entitlement to a fee, but each author whose contribution appears in the anthology will receive a copy of the book and a symbolic fee of € 100,-

Conditions of participation: Both participation in the competition and publication in the anthology are free of charge. There are no other obligations. Legal recourse is excluded. By participating in the competition, the participant assures that the submitted contribution is her own work and does not infringe any third-party rights. Furthermore, the participant agrees that her contribution may be published in the anthology and possibly on the website of the autonomous women's center. Otherwise, all rights remain with the author

PLEASE NOTE: All submissions that do not meet the above criteria will not be considered! However, any* and every* text submitted that brings the topic of WOMEN.TRAVEL.OTHER closer to readers in an amusing, exciting, funny, provocative, thought-provoking, concrete or abstract way has the potential to become part of the planned anthology! The publication will include texts by established authors as well as newcomers! Therefore, the call for texts goes out to ALL writing and interested women!
