The Parable of Talents (short description from the publisher)
Make America great again - Octavia E. Butler's prophetic second novel that depicts our present.
The year is 2032 and Lauren Olamina has founded a small community in Northern California where she lives in peace according to the rules of her new religion. They take in everyone who is persecuted after the election of the ultra-conservative President Jarret. During the election campaign, Jarret promised to make America great again, but in reality he is dividing the already torn country ever more deeply with his speeches and actions. Lauren's community - a minority religion led by a black woman - quickly becomes the target of his hatred. Years later, Lauren's daughter Ash's Vere studies her mother's diaries. She searches the past for answers to her questions - and wants to understand her mother, who was torn between her responsibility to her community and her destiny to lead humanity as a whole into a better future.
