Irma Trksak was born in Vienna in 1917. She was arrested by the Gestapo in 1941 for resistance in a group of Viennese Czechoslovakians and deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp for women. The film "Irma's Time" by Alenka Maly and Roland Freinschlag accompanies her on a contemporary witness journey through Upper Austria, documenting the constant, tireless recollection of agonizing, actually almost
unspeakable horrors in the service of enlightenment. Between rural classrooms and hotel rooms, Irma Trksak opens doors to insight into the Nazi past, leading the audience to the Siemens camp and the Uckermark extermination camp. It is Irma's respectful energy and insistence that becomes the epitome of lifelong political resistance
