SVS - The Social Insurance for the Self-Employed
Presenter: Gregor Wurzinger (SVS)
The compulsory insurance for the self-employed applies if the annual income is above the insurance limit (in 2025 this is 6,613.20 euros). Then there is the complete package, i.e. including pension insurance.
What does this cost, what else does compulsory insurance with the Social Insurance for the Self-Employed (SVS) cover? And how do I get insurance cover if I am likely to earn less than this €6,613.20? We talk about insurance limits, minimum and maximum contributions, provisional and final contributions. Voluntary self-insurance (opting in) and exemption from deductibles and prescription charges will also be discussed. And: What to do in the event of payment difficulties
KSVF - Artists' Social Insurance Fund
Lecturer: Bettina Wachermayr (KSVF)
The Artists' Social Insurance Fund (KSVF) can provide up to EUR 1,896 per year as a subsidy towards the social insurance contributions of self-employed artists. What requirements do I have to fulfil? How long can I apply for the subsidy retroactively for the past, and how can I receive it on an ongoing basis for subsequent years? This time, we will focus on the question: What is (not) considered artistic activity by the KSVF? And who decides? Artists' commissions - with representatives from artists' organisations - are convened to draw up expert opinions. How does this work? What documents are required and when? How do I ideally present my artistic work for this? Last but not least, the KSVF also has a support fund for artists in emergency situations. The KSVF is also responsible for notifications of suspension of artistic activity (temporary suspension/exemption from compulsory insurance) and for collecting levies to finance the subsidy.
