The German film industry is male-dominated - at least when you look at the director's chair. Less than 15 percent of films in cinema and television are made by women. One of the reasons for this is the unequal treatment in the allocation of funding by the state and federal film funding agencies. The recently founded initiative "Pro Quote Regie" wants to draw attention to this situation. The association of over 200 female film and television directors is calling for a quota system in the allocation of funding.
Radio Corax conducted an interview with director
Anette Ernst about Pro Quote Regie - for a quota for women in film funding.
