In memory of the Linz architect and artist Gabriele Heidecker, the Green Party of Linz awarded the Women* Art Prize for the seventh time this year. This was initiated and endowed by City Councillor Eva Schobesberger.

This year's Gabriele Heidecker Award winners are Romana Hagyo and Silke Maier-Gamauf for their project Straßenballade and starsky für globale empathie - smash patriarchy. On June 6, 2019, they were awarded prize money, the Women's Art Prize endowed with 10,000 euros and a glass trophy. All of this at the afo-architekturforum Oberösterreich, where the award ceremony took place.

You can listen to an interview with the artist duo Romana Hagyo and Silke Maier-Gamauf about their award-winning project. And the artist starsky can be heard speaking at the award ceremony, with City Councillor and prize donor Eva Schobesberger emphasizing the importance of women*'s prizes and Daniela Wagner-Höller reading the jury statement for both award-winning projects.

On June 14, 2019, the Open Commons Congress took place at the Wissensturm in Linz. This year's topic was "Work and health in the digital world". One of the speakers was Ingrid Mairhuber, political scientist and historian. Her research focuses on gender-specific analyses of labor market and social policy, working time and gender and much more. At the congress, Mairhuber spoke on the topic of "Digitalization as a challenge for social security and distributive justice".

The congress was organized by Open Commons Linz.
