Feminism and Riots
An alliance is a partnership, a network, a collaboration – and a great joy!
Everyone is welcome to join. The alliance Feminism & Krawall brings together women* and organisations living or working in Linz or Upper Austria. They are active in this region in the fields of art, society, social policy or cultural policy.
Regular meetings form the basis for collective planning and action. Women and girls of all ages, from diverse backgrounds and very different walks of life, come together there. At the meetings, ideas are exchanged, proposals made, plans organised, suggestions rejected, discussions held, negotiations taken place, and the anticipation for 8 March shared. (Doughnuts are sometimes shared too.) The Alliance now not only organises events on 8 March, but also supports its partners’ projects and events throughout the year.
The bond between us is forged by our shared commitment to women’s rights and our collective interest in feminist causes. These issues are set out in the demands. There are probably as many ideas about feminism as there are women* within this alliance. That’s brilliant!
