Feminist day of struggle
Demo zum int. feministischen Kampftag
Be there on March 8: Smash the patriarchy, fight for democracy!
When: March 8, 2025, start: 15:00
Where: Musiktheater in Linz (Volksgarten)
Demonstration route: Musiktheater via Landstraße to Hauptplatz
For over 100 years, women* have been taking to the streets around the world on March 8 to fight for their rights and a fairer society. The growing international shift to the right fuels intolerance, strengthens authoritarian structures and jeopardizes democratic values and the rights of women*.
We are also calling for this in Linz: Let's be loud together, raise our voices and stand up for each other - because there are many of us and we will not be stopped!
Why is this important?
The attacks on our democracy are increasing: Welfare cuts, rising inequality, hate speech and violence against minorities. Women*, FLINTA* and LGBTQIA+ people in particular are feeling the effects of these developments first-hand. If we do not want our rights to be restricted again, we must act now. Let's work together for a future in which everyone can live in safety, regardless of gender, origin or sexual orientation.
That's what we're taking to the streets for:
Self-determination over your own body: My Body, My Choice - safe and legal abortions worldwide!
Protection from violence and discrimination: Everyone has the right to a safe life without hatred and exploitation.
Fair distribution and remuneration of care work: Care work must finally be fairly distributed, remunerated and recognized.
Combating poverty and housing shortages: Women*, FLINTA* and minorities are particularly affected - this must change!
Equal pay for equal work: Put an end to inequality - for real equality and equal opportunities!
More visibility and representation: Women*, migrants* and marginalized groups deserve jobs that match their qualifications and more visibility and influence in positions of leadership and power.
Our fight does not stop at borders. We support:
The global campaign for legal abortion.
The courageous movements in Iran and Afghanistan where women* are fighting for their freedom.
All those who stand up against exploitation, discrimination and violence.
We are women*, migrants*, FLINTA* and LGBTQIA+ people fighting together for a just, diverse and barrier-free future. We want a good and safe life for everyone - and we need you!
When: March 8, 2025, start: 15:00
Where: Musiktheater in Linz (Volksgarten)
Demo route: Musiktheater via Landstraße to Hauptplatz
Set an example - even when you arrive! Come relaxed and climate-friendly by bus, train or streetcar. The Musiktheater Linz is located right next to the main train station and is only a few steps away.
Be there! Bring your friends, family and everyone who stands up for equality and solidarity! Let's be visible, loud and militant together!
