FIFTITU% Strategy 2023
FIFTITU% is committed to the visibility, recognition and promotion of women* in art and culture and has achieved many milestones for gender equality in the arts and culture sector. The association was honoured for its work with the 2018 Outstanding Artist Award – Federal Cultural Initiatives and the Grand Cultural Prize of the Province of Upper Austria for Cultural Initiatives.
FIFTITU% is a key player in the Austrian arts and culture scene and advocates for fairness in the arts and culture. As part of the Fairness Process initiative, launched by State Secretary for Culture Andrea Mayer, FIFTITU% offers various services to support and implement this process. In doing so, the association adheres to the principles of the Fairness Codex, which is based on values such as solidarity, diversity, equality and sustainability.

Advice Centre
The FIFTITU% Advice Centre is a free and confidential service for women* and queer* people in the arts and culture sector. The advice centre offers individual advice on various issues such as drafting employment contracts, discrimination and sexism in the arts and culture sector, funding, rights, contracts, fees and networks. Through the advice centre, women* and queer* people can learn more about their rights and how to exercise them, thereby strengthening their position in the sector.
Mentoring Programmes
FIFTITU%’s mentoring programmes specifically support women* and queer* people in the arts and culture scene, offering an opportunity to learn from experienced female mentors*, exchange ideas and develop further. Care is taken to ensure a gender-balanced distribution of mentees and mentors in order to guarantee equal opportunities. The aim of the programmes is to support women* and queer* people in improving their artistic skills, advancing their careers and becoming more visible in the arts and culture sector.
Workshops
FIFTITU% offers a wide range of workshops for women* and queer* people from the arts and culture scene, designed to help them advance their careers and strengthen their position within the sector. The topics covered in the workshops range from self-promotion, project management and funding to gender competence and diversity. The aim is to equip participants with practical skills to support their careers and encourage them to play an active role in shaping the arts and culture sector. Through the workshops, women* and queer* people can network and share their knowledge and experiences.
Newsbase database
FIFTITU%’s Newsbase database offers a comprehensive overview of current calls for applications, grants and other opportunities in the arts and culture scene specifically aimed at women* and queer* people. Care is taken to ensure gender-equitable representation and a fair distribution of opportunities. Newsbase is a valuable resource that supports artists and cultural practitioners in the arts and culture sector in planning and advancing their careers.
Salon FIFTITU%
In 2023, FIFTITU% will not only be celebrating its 25th anniversary, but also its move to new premises, which include a spacious event space. This unique opportunity opens up new possibilities for us to gain greater visibility and organise a diverse range of events. The affordable premises are also located right next to the main square in Linz, offering an ideal location in a bustling hub. This means that FIFTITU% will be based in one of the most prominent locations in Linz in future.
