FIFTITU% Strategy 2022 - 2023

FIFTITU% has been a feminist organization committed to the visibility and promotion of women* in art and culture since 1998. The networking and advice center works continuously to implement better conditions for women* in the arts and culture sector. As the only platform of its kind in Austria, FIFTITU% offers not only cultural and women's political work, but also concrete advice and support for professionalization. In this way, FIFTITU% supports women* and queers* in the arts and culture scene to assert themselves and strengthen their position.

UNRULY THOUGHTS - on feminisms and beyond

Romanian multimedia artist Andreea Vlăduț and Austrian multidisciplinary artist Christa Wall are bringing the role of women as moirologists to the fore. In their field research they have focused on Romania, however their theoretical fundament came from different transnational contexts. All this evolved into the exhibition titled From tears to ideas* that took place in November and December in Bucharest, Romania.

Vlăduț and Wall spoke about moiorogist's modus operandi, how this praxis is a feminist one, and which challenges they encountered when tackling this topic and preparing the exhibition and performance.

This year's International Marxist Feminist Conferencefocused on challenges and analysis of contemporary feminism. From the 11th to 13th of November all the plenaries and panels were held online.
Lorena Cabnal, Dilar Dirik and Silvia Federici were guests in the same named plenary on the opening day.

Tricky Women / Tricky RealitiesTricky Women / Tricky Realities, the cooperation project with FIFTITU% - Vernetzungsstelle für Frauen* in Kunst und Kultur brings a short film program exclusively for Frau.Macht.Film brings a short film program to Linz

The internationally oriented, two-stage competition for female* visual artists to design an artistic work for women* who resisted the Nazi regime in Upper Austria was announced by OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH on behalf of the province of Upper Austria together with the University of Art and Design Linz. The Kulturquartier, which is located on the site of the former Ursuline convent and thus at an early location for girls' and women's education, is intended as the location for the prize-winning work. The artistic works are called upon to commemorate the resistance of women during the Nazi era in Upper Austria, their resistant deeds, actions and ideas, as well as to honor them and recognize them as relevant in the present.

"Mane" means "I" in the Wolof language and is also the title of the documentary film by director Sandra Krampelhuber. She filmed the story of two women from Senegal. The protagonists are Toussa, a rapper from Dakar, and Emodj, a wrestler from southern Senegal.

We attended the premiere at Moviemento for you. At the end of the screening of Mane, we had the opportunity to learn more about the background and making of the film from the director and to discuss it. The film and the subsequent audience discussion were moderated by Tmnit Ghide.

Bildrecht not only represents the copyrights of its members but also takes care of statutory remuneration claims that cannot be claimed by individuals.
