Between avant-garde and catastrophe

Employment conditions for women in art and culture

Conference on November 4, 2005, 11 - 21h

Old City Hall Linz, 4th floor

Invitation card for "A-TYPICAL WOMAN II"

Women artists and cultural workers are particularly affected by the flexibilization and precarization of society as a whole. Work in the arts and cultural sector is characterized by a high degree of identification with one's own work, but at the same time by an increasingly massive exclusion from the social safety net. The neoliberal reorganization of society finds a willing field of experimentation in art and culture.

Recognized experts will discuss the causes and individual and collective strategies on this topic. Four workshops offer the opportunity to find out about practically relevant topics such as social insurance for artists, tax law, funding opportunities and atypical forms of employment.
